Computer Software

  • TextCite Publication Manager. An advanced citation manager written in the Java language and available for multiple operating systems. TextCite is a program for organizing and commenting textual citations from texts (books, articles, or other published works) for use in producing scientific or academic publications. You can organize by publication, author, category, or outline. It works with bibliographic management programs like Citation, EndNote, RefWorks, and BibTeX, providing important text/citation management capabilities that these programs lack, while still allowing for rapid footnote and bibliography generation by means of your favorite bibliography manager. It also exports to PDF and Word (RTF).

  • PalmWords. A PalmOS interface to Whittaker's Words, an extensive (Classical) Latin dictionary and word form parser.

  • Teaching of technical subjects to non-technical users & students. I have had many students tell me that I am an excellent teacher, and was much in demand as an instructor while still in Arizona, as well as while in Pamplona.

  • Computer software development skills, as a result of over 20 years of experience with programming in many languages on diverse platforms.

  • Small business management skills, which I acquired while running a successful sole proprietorship as a computer consultant.

Technical skills

  • Programming facility in Java, PHP, Perl, Delphi, Python and C. Extensive experience especially in server-side and web programming.

  • Linux/Unix system administration and Windows 2000 server administration.

  • Database administration and programming skills, in the Oracle, PostgreSQL and DB2 environments, including SQL-PL and JDBC programming experience.
